Not much to look at but full of flavour

A handful of carrotsThe experiment that was my pot of carrots yielded some success the other day when I noticed several carrots were poking out of the ground. As soon as I saw the bright orange I knew it was time to see how the carrots had worked out.

With this experiment I really didn’t expect to get anything out of it and at the end of the day the size of the carrots - even though they are baby carrots is on the small size.

But forget the size the flavour is bigger than Texas! These were real gourmet carrots, tiny but so rich in sweet flavour they were amazing.

So overall I was impressed with the results and there are a number of carrots still in the ground but I don’t expect much more from them. I plan on revisiting carrots but with a larger and deeper pot. I’d like to try normal sized carrots and see what they turn out like.

Why do they such good eyesight anyway?

I would have never thought to grow root vegetables in a pot.

    Thanks for the great idea!

That’s no problem at all Reggie - it was good for an experiment at the very least. Nice site by the way!

That you grew them in a pot is pretty spectacular.

Thanks Cooper - I think next time I might try a bigger or at least a deeper pot with with fewer plants and try and get a bit more size out of them.
