So little effort
Today I planted the chives and parsley in some pots which have had soil in them for a while. Of course over the last couple of days I have been conditioning the soil with seaweed so the whole process wasn’t completely without effort but I assure you no sweat was broken.
I did also prune my hideously overgrown lemon grass and noticed that the capsicum plant that I have written off almost four times now is once again showing signs of life!? Poor thing doesn’t know when to give in.

Gardening is always such a beautifully enjoyable pastime. Do you like lemon grass tea/ice tea? It’s also really good to get the root, crush it a bit, then put it in with rice when you’re cooking.
One way to keep it under control is to put corrugated steel around it so its roots won’t invade the rest of the place!

To be honest I’ve never really made my own lemon grass tea, it’s something I’m meaning to do. I’m trying to make the plant really healthy before I jump in.
I’ve recently found a couple of veggie stir-frys that use it so I’m going to give them a try too.

I too have a capsicum and 2 chilli bushes that narrowly avoided ending up in the green waste bin. I felt sorry for them and gave them fresh soil and a good burst of worm juice.
The capsicum is now bearing fruit and a wealth of buds. One of the chilli bushes is flowering and the other has grown a canopy of leaves.
